Acoustic Guitar Binding – Ukulele Binding
All Lichty custom ukuleles and guitars come with binding on the body and fretboard. The binding protects the edges of the instrument body from damage and also offers an opportunity for enhancing the visual beauty of the instrument. Choices include Koa, Maple, Cocobolo, Bloodwood, Indian Rosewood, Ebony, Snakewood (premium up-charge) and more.
Purfling
The top and sides of all Lichty instruments have purfling. Purfling on back is an option you may choose. The purfling sits tucked in between the binding and the instrument body. This adds to the overall design. It can be something as simple as a thin black line, black-white-black or a more ornate strip of white pearl or Paua Abalone. See examples of each option:
