Custom Handmade Acoustic Guitars and Ukuleles
For over a decade luthier Jay Lichty crafted custom instruments in his workshop, located in the foothills of Western North Carolina. During that time Jay kicked up a lot of dust and put strings on some mighty fine instruments. While his primary focus was designing and building custom acoustic guitars and ukuleles, he also built fiddles, electric fiddles, mandolins, electric banjos and a slew of fun electric guitars.
In 2023 Jay stepped back from custom builds and decided to strictly build things that inspire him. Some he keeps and a few instruments make it to our sales page. Given he loves to play music as much, or more, than he loves to build instruments, he is on a continual pursuit to build the next best instrument for him to play. Overall that creative drive has taken him on some interesting journeys, has resulted in some very happy customers and keeps him dreaming up answers to the question – what’s next?
